Classroom Planning - Fall 2024

As we begin to plan for the 2024-2025 school year, we are having discussions about classroom placement. One question that comes to the office in the spring and at the beginning of each school year is how we determine which class students will be in. The first thing parents and guardians need to know is this is a carefully considered process. There are a number of factors that go into this decision including the number of students in each grade, trying to get a balance of gender and abilities, and maintaining some social supports for each student. Overall, the most important consideration is what is in the best interest of all of our 482 students.

Safety Reminders for Argyle School

Thank you to everyone for welcoming all of our staff and students during the first few weeks of this school year.  Staff at Argyle School are so impressed with the enthusiasm of our students and the commitment of our families. We all play an important part in every child’s education and working together is the key to success.  Keeping staff and students safe throughout the school day is our top priority.

Police Information Checks

Police Information Checks (PICs)

All volunteers are required to be active during a 12-month period to be considered active volunteers. With this in mind, and, given the length of time volunteers have been out of our facilities, we will require all volunteers to produce an original, clear Police Information Check (PIC) and Vulnerable Sector Check prior to volunteering in a school. Any person providing services to students on a recurring scheduled basis requires an original PIC. Any person supervising students on their own (even just once) also requires an original PIC. This includes individuals involved with extra-curricular activities. PICs must be applied for well in advance of school activities to ensure they are in place when required.
