New for the 2024 - 2025 school year, the Government of Saskatchewan is requiring all school divisions to ban the use of personal electronic devices during instructional time in Kindergarten - Grade 12. This policy is intended to lessen the negative impacts of personal electronic devices in classrooms and support teachers and school staff in promoting a productive classroom environment. Students will be able to access their PEDs during the lunch period of 11:45-12:30. The school division is working on an Administrative Procedure that clearly defines implementation of the personal electronic device ban for students. Upon completion, the procedure will be posted on the school division website.
In repsonse to this ban, Argyle School has developed a Personal Electronic Device Responsible Use Plan. This plan has been shared with all staff and students. Students in Grade 3-8 were provided with a hardcopy on the first day of school. For reference, the plan has also been attached to the Edsby River of News.
